Ian Smith invites his audience to explore creative, artistic, and hilarious campaign strategies, all while discussing how valuable it can be to rely on inspiration rather than guilt when targeting a broad audience. Ian Smith has been hosting community events and leadership dialogues across Texas since 2010, when he co-founded and expanded his dorm-room idea into a registered 501c3 non-profit. The Human-Environmental-Animal-Team (H.E.A.T.) started as a small club aiming to make volunteering fun. Within one year, the club won a cash grant and the title of “Organization of the year” from Texas State University. Since its creation in 2010, Ian has founded eight chapters at universities and high schools across Texas. Ian also founded and currently manages a successful abroad program focusing on reforestation and restoration of coral reefs throughout Asia and Central America. Outstanding members from H.E.A.T. chapters have taken positive activism to Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Thailand and Indonesia, changing the lives of attending students. The various H.E.A.T. chapters across Texas partake in physical volunteer work and have had many successes in launching creative awareness and fundraising campaigns. - If you see a creature which looks as if it’s trying to catch an alien radio signal from space, it’s most likely Markhor Goat. They can grow as long as 6 ft from head to tail!
- If you can’t decide if you want to have a dog or a raccoon as a pet, we have just the thing for you - raccoon dog! Despite having raccoon-like markings on their fur, they are not very closely related to the North American raccoon.
- Blue Footed Booby are to catch your eye if you ever visit the Galapagos Islands. They can look a bit clumsy and comical on land, but they are excellent at flying and swimming.
- Colugo has a large gliding membrane (like a flying squirrel), and they can glide for long distances between trees standing far apart.
- Even if the Poodle Moth may look as if it lives in Antarctica with all this fur, in fact, it comes from Venezuela, a tropical country. Its hairs don’t serve for heating.

Cloud Antelope! This species lives in the clouds (that’s why such a name)! Its bright blue fur is the reflection of cloudless blue skies in the area of its habitat. Its diet consists of sun rays and candies...

Meghan Markle spoke out against tabloid journalism, saying it’s ‘not healthy for anyone.’ On Tuesday, the Duchess of Sussex opened up about her portrayal in the media during a conversation that was part of ‘The New York Times’ DealBook Online Summit. The discussion included details about Markle’s political efforts as an advocate for paid family leave for all Americans. Markle also reacted to the ‘Mail on Sunday’ appealing her court win from earlier this year.

ABOUT KINSEY MORRISON

A passion for life drives Kinsey Morrison to make a difference.

Morrison had survived three different life-threatening illnesses by the age of 15. Today, she is a senior at Stanford University in California, studying international relations and Spanish and dreaming of being a Supreme Court Justice. She is also training for a half marathon and spending ten weeks in South Africa through a study abroad program.

In 2015, Morrison spoke at the United States Supreme Court, advocating for marriage equality for her two moms in Kentucky. Not surprisingly, she is writing an honors thesis on public policy and immigration

She says the most important thing to her is helping unite people across the Commonwealth of Kentucky and the nation, as well as teaching people how to be indeed alive while they’re living since none of us ever know how much time we have. Morrison has spoken to more than 25,000 people, raising over $600,000 for the health charities that saved her life.

After the 2016 presidential election, Morrison founded Stanford Women in Politics to support her female classmates interested in running for office or working in government. One of her dreams is to be the Governor of Kentucky.

She is a National Merit Scholar, Bell Award Winner, and the Association of Fundraising Professionals’ National Youth Philanthropist of the Year.

An alumna of St. Francis School in Louisville, Morrison is the 2nd youngest guest to appear on our program. She is also the daughter of our #152nd guest, Karen Morrison, the president and CEO of Gilda’s Club of Louisville, Ky.
