Bob Marley (1945-1981) was a Jamaican singer, songwriter, and musician who became an international icon of reggae music and one of the most influential figures in popular culture. Born in Nine Mile, Jamaica, Marley began his musical career in the late 1960s with the Wailers, a group he formed with Peter Tosh and Bunny Wailer. They achieved widespread success with hits such as "No Woman, No Cry," "Stir It Up," and "Get Up, Stand Up."

Marley's music often carried messages of peace, love, and social justice, reflecting his Rastafarian beliefs. He played a significant role in popularizing reggae music worldwide and became known for his distinctive vocal style and powerful lyrics. Some of his most acclaimed albums include "Exodus," "Catch a Fire," and "Legend," which remains one of the best-selling albums of all time.

Beyond his musical legacy, Marley was also a symbol of resistance against oppression and an advocate for unity and equality. He used his platform to promote causes such as African unity and the legalization of marijuana. Despite his untimely death from cancer at the age of 36, Marley's influence continues to resonate globally, with his music and message inspiring generations of fans around the world.

4K African Wildlife: Survival of Wild Animals in Ngorongoro National Park With Real Sounds 4K Video
Ngorongoro National Park is home to 25,000 large animals, mainly ungulates. The largest species in the crater include the Black Rhino, which declined from about 108 individuals in 1964-1966 to only 11-14 in 1995, the African Wild Buffalo, the Hippo. In addition, there are some species of ungulates with larger numbers such as the blue wildebeest (estimated at 7,000 individuals in 1994), Grant's zebra (4,000 individuals), Eland antelope, Grant's gazelle, and gazelle. Thomson (about 3,000 individuals). The water antelope occurs mainly in the Lerai forest. However, Oribi, Antelope and Crocodile species were not found, while the Impala was gradually absent as the open forests became unsuitable for them. Giraffes are also absent, possibly due to a lack of plants that favor them. Rarer predators include the East African Lion, East African Leopard, East African Wild Dog, and African Leopard. The crater is home to one of the largest populations of East African Lions with 62 in 2001.

Most gaming chairs are a complete waste of money.

For years, companies have been selling spine-snapping, back-breaking, neck-nuking “seats” they claim will keep you comfortable while gaming.

And while these racing-style chairs might look cool and come with tons of celebrity endorsements, most of them don’t exactly take care of your spine.

Now, there are some companies trying to bring actual comfort to the masses, but even the bad chairs can be very expensive.

So we had to ask, what makes most gaming chairs so bad? Are any worth the money? Or is the whole industry really a scam?

The Department of Art and the History of Art and the Program in Film and Media Studies presents a conversation between artist Jess Dugan and curator Mary Statzer.

Jess T. Dugan is an artist whose work explores issues of identity through photographic portraiture. Dugan’s work has been widely exhibited and is in the permanent collections of over 35 museums throughout the United States. Dugan’s monographs include To Survive on This Shore: Photographs and Interviews with Transgender and Gender Nonconforming Older Adults (Kehrer Verlag, 2018) and Every Breath We Drew (Daylight Books, 2015). They are the recipient of a Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant and an ICP Infinity Award, and were selected by the Obama White House as an LGBT Artist Champion of Change. They are represented by the Catherine Edelman Gallery in Chicago.

Mary Statzer is the curator of prints and photographs at University of New Mexico Art Museum (UNMAM), where she oversees a collection of more than 10,000 photographs. Statzer brought the exhibition To Survive on This Shore: Photographs and Interviews with Transgender and Gender Nonconforming Older Adults to UNMAM, and organized Patrick Nagatani: A Survey of Early Photographs and Indelible Ink: Native Women, Printmaking, Collaboration. In 2019, she and her colleagues launched UNMAM’s Acquisitions Fund for Diversity and Equity. Statzer holds an M.F.A. in printmaking from Arizona State University and a Ph.D. in the history and theory of art from University of Arizona. She has published articles in Aperture magazine and edited a multi-author book titled The Photographic Object 1970, released in 2016. She has participated in photography portfolio reviews across the United States.
