"Hello, citizens of Autodale! You are pretty. Your neighbours, friends and family are also pretty. But sadly, not everyone is pretty. Some are ugly ...We, here at Autodale, do not want "uglies."

This animation was extremely fun to work on. I definitely enjoy doing my own original stuff over Overwatch/Rick and Morty stuff. I hope that this (Like Redone) does well so I can continue doing original animations. It's so much more fun to explore my own personal creativity. Building this world from the ground up was awesome and I'm quite proud of the final result.
This short explores themes of individualism, innocence and brainwashing which were very fun to play with; something I don't think I could do with the restrictive nature of a fan-film. Really hope you guys enjoy it!

This is the first short film in the Autodale series. Check out the whole playlist here!:

►Lyrics:
Written by Taylor Swift and Jack Antonoff

I have this thing where I get older but just never wiser
Midnights become my afternoons
When my depression works the graveyard shift
All of the people I’ve ghosted stand there in the room
I should not be left to my own devices, they come with prices and vices, I end up in crisis
Tale as old as time
I wake up screaming from dreaming one day I’ll watch as you’re leaving ‘cause you got tired of my scheming - for the last time

It’s me
Hi
I’m the problem, it’s me
At teatime
Everybody agrees
I’ll stare directly at the sun but never in the mirror
It must be exhausting always rooting for the anti-hero

Sometimes I feel like everybody is a sexy baby
And I’m a monster on the hill
Too big to hang out
Slowly lurching toward your favorite city
Pierced through the heart but never killed
Did you hear my covert narcissism I disguise as altruism like some kind of congressman
Tale as old as time
I wake up screaming from dreaming
one day I’ll watch as you’re leaving and life will lose all its meaning - for the last time

It’s me
Hi
I’m the problem, it’s me
At teatime
Everybody agrees
I’ll stare directly at the sun but never in the mirror
It must be exhausting always rooting for the anti-hero

I have this dream my daughter-in-law kills me for the money
She thinks I left them in the will
The family gathers ‘round and reads it
And then someone screams out
“She’s laughing up at us from hell!”

It’s me
Hi
I’m the problem, it’s me

It’s me
Hi
I’m the problem, it’s me

It’s me
Hi

Everybody agrees
Everybody agrees

It’s me
Hi
I’m the problem, it’s me
At teatime
Everybody agrees
I’ll stare directly at the sun but never in the mirror
It must be exhausting always rooting for the anti-hero

PinkPantheress:
take a look inside your heart
is there any room for me
i won’t ever have to hold my breath
till you get down on one knee
because
you only want to hold me when i’m looking good enough
did you ever feel me
could you ever picture us

every time i pull my hair
well it’s only our of fear
that you’ll find me ugly
and one day you’ll disappear
because
what’s the point of crying it was never even love
did you ever want me was i ever good enough

the boys a liar
the boys a liar
he doesn’t see you
you’re not looking at me boy
the boys a liar
the boys a liar
he doesn’t see you
you’re not looking at me boy

good enough nough nough
good enough nough nough
good enough nough nough
good enough nough nough

Ice Spice:

he say that I’m good enough
grabbin’ my duhduhduh
thinkin’ bout shit that I shouldn’ta
so I tell him there’s one of me
he making fun of me, his girl is a bum to me
like that boy is a cap, saying he home but I know where he at like
bet he’s blowing her back, thinking bout me cos he knows that it’s fat
and it been what it been, calling his phone like “yo send me a pin”
ducking my shit cus he know what I’m on
but when he hit me Im not gon’ respond
but I don’t sleep enough without you
and I can’t eat enough without you
if we don’t speak does that mean we’re through?
don’t like sneaky shit that you do

PinkPantheress:

the boys a liar
the boys a liar
he doesn’t see you
you’re not looking at me boy
the boys a liar

he doesn’t see you

Lyrics:

Graduation film from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design, Scotland.

Note from the director:

I pitched this idea in February 2018 and had the privilege of working with a number of my classmates and 3rd-year assistants. They each brought so much talent and enthusiasm to telling this story and I couldn't have been more fortunate to have them as my team. Please stay for the credits and look them up!

Fox Fires is inspired by the Finnish folk tale of the aurora borealis. The film blends 2D and 3D animation together.

Thank you so much to my composer, Denny Schneidemesser, for all of his help in bringing the film together and for scoring the work so beautifully. I've admired Denny's work since I first watched animated shorts on YouTube and decided to pursue animation myself, having him on board was a dream come true.
